Spring has officially arrived, and that signals the start of landscape design season! There is an electric feeling in the air as we unveil our first landscape design install of the year. This season began with fresh ideas and a commitment to enhancing outdoor spaces through the installation of natural stone edgers, rich black forest triple ground mulch, and a diverse selection of new plants. Let’s take a closer look at how these elements came together for a stunning transformation.

The Aesthetic Appeal of Natural Stone Edgers

Natural stone edgers bring a unique charm to any garden. They provide a rustic elegance while serving practical purposes, such as framing garden beds and paths.

Natural stone is favored for its durability and low maintenance. For example, granite and fieldstone edgers can last over 50 years in proper conditions with minimal upkeep. We selected Fond du Lac tumbled edgers for this job, as they harmonize beautifully with the surroundings, adding visual intrigue and texture. The edgers create a clean outline that enhances organization and invites relaxation in the garden.

The Magic of Black Forest Triple Ground Mulch

After installing the stone edgers, we added black forest triple ground mulch to enrich our garden beds. Mulch is a critical component of effective landscaping, providing multiple benefits that boost plant health.

The deep, dark shades of the black forest mulch not only elevate the visual aspect but also regulate soil temperature and retain moisture. Research shows that effective mulch can reduce weeds by up to 80%, saving you time and effort in maintenance. Moreover, as the mulch decomposes, it continuously nourishes the plants. This season, we applied a thick layer around new plantings, setting them up for success as they grow throughout the year. Never underestimate the positive impact of mulch on your garden's vitality!

Exciting New Plantings

This year’s new plantings genuinely excite us! As spring unfolds, we added various plants that bring color and life.

Our selection includes vibrant flowering perennials that thrive in our area's climate, and also a few tropical annuals. These not only beautify the garden but attract beneficial pollinators, including bees and butterflies. We also included hardy shrubs like Hydrangeas that can grow up to six feet tall, ensuring perpetual seasonal interest from spring to fall. Watching these new plantings flourish and breathe life into the garden is one of the most rewarding aspects of landscape design.

Why Spring is the Perfect Time for Landscape Design

Spring is the ideal time to realize your landscaping dreams. Rising temperatures and lengthening daylight hours create the perfect planting conditions.

Many homeowners seize the opportunity to enhance their outdoor spaces, making them ideal for gatherings and relaxation. A well-designed landscape allows you to fully enjoy your garden, whether for weekend barbecues or peaceful morning coffee sessions.

Additionally, establishing your landscape early in the season allows plants to form a robust root system. By summer, your garden will be lush and ready to impress.
